Toyota Earth Day Scholarship Program

Cultivating Tomorrow's Environmental Leaders

We know the students of today are the environmental leaders of tomorrow. That's why Toyota originally joined its long-time partner, Earth Day Canada, to create the Toyota Earth Day Scholarship Program in 2003.

The program honours 15 graduating high school students and Quebec junior college students with a $5,000 award for their environmental work in the community. The award is applied directly towards educational expenses for the first year of post-secondary full-time studies in Canada.

A national award winner is then chosen from the 15 regional finalists. The national winner is honoured with an Outstanding Environmental Achievement Award, a Panasonic notebook computer, and a $5,000 donation to the high school from which the award-winner graduated.

Today's students are no strangers to environmental responsibility. Time and again, young Canadians have shown their willingness and ability to become actively involved in environmental solutions.

We, at Toyota, have been very pleased with the results thus far of the Toyota Earth Day Scholarship Program. The response by young Canadians making a difference to the environment has been overwhelming. That is why we continue to offer this program and look forward to making winners of more environmentally conscious and conscientious young Canadians in the future. To date, $425,000 has been awarded to 85 exceptional young Canadians through this program.

Toyota Canada feels that environmental leadership is important and that corporations need to show leadership. The Toyota Earth Day Scholarship Program is only one of the ways we are doing that. It is our sincere hope that it will encourage others to step forward to meet tomorrow's environmental challenges

Rockin' Rotary Ribfest

June 6th - 8th 2014

Clarington Toyota is proud to support as much as we can here in Clarington. We have made a great effort to get out and be part of as many local events as possible. Most recent was the "Rockin' Rotary Ribfest" where we assisted and even our president, Mr, Don Gleed was happily assisting the folks at the beer tent for a few days supplying the local crowd with some much needed refreshments.

We have always been an active part of our community here in Clarington and can't wait to see what happens next year at the Ribfest. We also had a few of the Fan Favorites down there to show off. The FJ Cruiser, Tacoma, Rav4 and Corolla, with the assistance of Steve Dever one of our Product Advisors to show a few curious on lookers and answer any questions they had.

Hope to see you all again next year!

On June 6th through 7th Clarington Toyota was proud to support our very own, Jennifer Dunn in the Annual Womans show is Oshawa Ontario. Clarington Toyota was glad to send Jennifer out with two of her perosonal favorite Toyota's. The Corolla Sport and the Rav4. With the sun shining, many woman with there mothers, daughters, sisters came out to participate in this annual event, to visit the vendors and each of thier products.

To add to the fun we also had a free entry ballot of a car detailing service here at Clarington Toyota to one lucky attendee. The response to the new Corolla and the Rav4 was over whelmingly positive. Everyone was very impressed with the sleek styling Toyota has put into the vehicles, let alone the amazing fuel economy that goes along with it. I would like to thank everyone who was able to stop by and take the time out of thier day to have a look at our vehicles and I hope to see just as many, if not more next year!

"Rockin' Rotary Rib's & Brews"

Another year has come and gone for the annual Bowmanville Rib fest. This we was something a bit different. This year, the Rotary club invited local Craft Breweries to come and offer up some of their very own brews for the local crowds to take in. Of course for those who enjoy the classic brews they also had a booth for everyone else. Don Gleed, our President of the dealership, was once again a volunteer bartender for the event at the Craft Beer booth.

The Rib fest has been coming to Bowmanville for several years now, and we are always happy to see such a great crowd come out and partake in the great event's, live music, and the great food. And if ribs are your favorite, you also had the option for pulled port, chicken, fries, corn on a stick. and all the deserts you could think of. A great event for the who family to go and have a great meal.

Hopefully next year is even better!
